OpenSFHistory: North Beach and Telegraph Hill
Dear THD members, Please join us for 'A Picture AND a Thousand Words'—an interactive history program combining art and oral traditions with the delicious minutiae of local history and skilled storytelling.
Partnering with OpenSF History, the THD Art and Culture Committee presents OpenSF's extensive archive of local historical photos—this week focusing on North Beach, Telegraph Hill, the Barbary Coast and the waterfront—in an interactive celebration of our fantastic heritage. Speakers include Woody LaBounty, Gary Kamiya, Mark Bittner and Barbara Cannella. There will be an opportunity to share your favorite photos, open-mic style, a Q&A, and wine, soft drinks, and ample snacks to keep things convivial, all in the gorgeous historic Canessa Gallery. Admission is just $10, and tickets (limited to 50!) are available here now: http://outsidelands.org/events/021217.php Let's celebrate our strange and layered history together!
