THD Art&CultureCommittee's Winter 2010 Salon

Help us create an instant art show,
with YOU as artists and curators!

*Bring a favorite artwork-
either one you've made yourself or one you own and love-
and tell us a little about it.

We'll hang all the pieces at Live Worms Gallery,
where they'll stay up for a day for the public to enjoy.

Salon: Friday, February 26, Live Worms Gallery, 1345 Grant Ave.
        Hanging artwork, shmoozing: 6:30 - 8:00 pm
        Presentation/discussion of art:  8:00 - 10:00 pm

Flash refreshments provided at the salon:
fudge from Z Cioccolato, popcorn, wine and fizzy water

You do not need to bring an artwork to attend-
  viewers/appreciators are welcome!

THD members $5, nonmember guests $7.50; pay at the door.
New THD Membership $10 off the regular price if you sign up at the Salon.

Email any questions, to: art&culture@thd.org

Open show: Saturday, February 27, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm, free
See the result of Friday's hanging, bring your friends!

*IMPORTANT LOGISTICS-read carefully if you want to bring an artwork:
One reasonably sized piece of artwork-painting, drawing, sculpture, mixedmedia-is acceptable.  Ideally, pieces should be ready to hang (sculpture will sit on a table or be placed on the floor). We will provide wall fixtures and do the hanging.
Once the pieces are hung, each owner will present his or her work and say a few sentences about it and why it's meaningful to them. The art will stay on display on Saturday, 2/27, from 11:00 to 4:00, and the gallery will be open to the public.

NOTE: The gallery will be staffed while the art is on display, but the work is not insured, so don't bring anything extremely valuable. If you'd prefer not to leave your artwork overnight, you may take it home with you after the Friday evening salon.
Pieces can be for sale or not for sale, but any sales transactions will takeplace directly between the art owner and the potential purchaser. A&C committee will not be involved in sales.

Retrieving your artwork:
If you leave a piece for display, you must pick it up between 4:00 and 7:00 pm on Saturday, 2/27, ID required, unless you make other arrangements for pickup. Live Worms Gallery provides us with NO storage capability.
Unclaimed pieces will be sold to benefit the Art&Culture Committee.
